Piggybacking Wifi tea-leaves arrested

POLICE IN THE UK have arrested and cautioned two people this month for nicking their neighbour's internet over wi-fi, reports the Beeb.

The fuzz were contacted on Saturday after Worcestershire locals spotted a bloke in his car, using a laptop, parked outside a house. Police promptly came along and arrested the man, later issuing him a caution. "Dishonestly obtaining electronic communications services with intent to avoid payment" was the official caution. The lady arrested earlier this month was spotted similarly, though she even more suspiciously had cardboard up around her car windows. She was foiled when the light from her computer was seen through the back window.

As most of you INQ readers will be well aware, it's wise to protect your wi-fi. However, it's a commonly forgotten precaution: scanning for access points right now, I've found six unprotected hotspots on this road.
