Intel Canterwood, Springdale boards show at CeBIT

Would you Adam and Eve it?

A BIT LIKE A FIG leaf over first human prototypes Adam and Eve, the Canterwood and Springdale boards from Intel had the lozenges carefully concealed - it's sort of the privy parts of a motherboard, we do believe.

We found this pic on display at a stand at CeBIT concealed by the virtual fig leaf but went back later to peel away the lozenge below, so to speak.

We're sorry the second picture is so much more blurry than the first, but we've done that to make sure the decencies stick in this decadent 21st century world of ours.

As you'll no doubt notice, the processor goes under an enormous plate of something when it's inserted.

So what's the difference between the i865 and then i875 - the answer, apparently, lies in the kind of memory the i875 uses, but otherwise they're practically identical.

Sorry we had to size down the pictures. The originals are quite interesting but we always keep bandwidth in mind, here at the INQ.
