A US bloke risked life and limb to save his Iphone, according to Laptop magazine.
Bijan Rezvani, was in holiday in New York when he dropped his fruit themed iToy® on to train tracks at 2am.
Rezvani ignored the voice of Darwin shouting in his ear and instead obeyed the call of his Inner Jobs. He jumped between the electrified subway tracks and rummaged around the rats, mice, pooh, used druggies' needles, in search of his Jesus phone.
Rezvani said that he didn't think that there was anything weird in his heroic act. He didn't have a back-up plan if an express train had come by and wiped him out of the gene pool.
Like many Iphones, apparently, the device was already badly scratched so it was impossible to tell if it had been damaged in the incident.
Rezvani said that his main motivation for the jump was that Steve Jobs owns his soul.
It was the first time he ever had a 'cool phone' and had gone around taking photos of things. It seems he didn't want to lose those exclusive snaps of his Coldplay collection.
If Steve had seen the Iphone he might have been less amused. The machine was unlocked and had an NES emulator on it.
For what it is worth, Rezvani said he would not have done the same thing for the the 4GB model

Another missed opportunity.
Reading is fundamental. The article clearly states he didn't cross the street, but electrified train tracks.

We are all dumber from having read your comment.
Apple cult mentality
I saw somebody cross the street earlier today, OMG he couldn't been hit by a car. I think giz, endgadget, and the inquirer should interview this guy and find out WHY he risked his life to cross the street!
That WOULD'VE made a perfect Darwin Award. :)
That article forgot to account for witnesses! According to sources his eyes rolled back, foam spewed out of his mouth and then he jumped, arms flailing, into the abyss chanting something like "Sorry Stevie, I am so sorry..."

Trains were running late that day, well, like every other day... sadly.

That would have made an awesome Darwin Award.
