Intel promotes speed dating in quest for Love

Sentryno Love Shacks crop up nationwide

CHIP GIANT Intel is doing its bit to aid Eros in his eternal task of matching up single people.

Eros was considered to be a bit of a nuisance in the time of ancient Greece, causing considerable inconvenience by shouldering his bow and sending off shafts of arrows to people whose lives were perfectly tranquil without love affairs rocking the boat.

His Hindu equivalent, Kameshvara, was once reduced to ashes by Shiva because he attempted to send love arrows his way while he was in deep meditation. A useful technique if you can master it.

But that hasn't deterred Intel. It said in a statement it gave 15 single girls from London's media industry the "chance to flirt with hunky surfers from Devon, Manchester's mad for it footballers, and adventurous skiers from Edinburgh".

The aim was to connect these hunks with the chicks "all in the same night in a bid" [shurely bed, Ed.] to find pre-Valentine's day lurv.

The "online flirting" was done using the awesome power of Intel Centrino notebooks, an unlikely candidate for Cupid, but there you go.

Rick Skett, Intel UK's country manager, said: "The high tech speed dating night is a great example of how mobile technology touches many different aspects of people's lives, connecting them in ways never possible before." ยต
