HP ethics officer ducked snooping scandal

Wishes he hadn't asked about it

HP'S chief ethics officer knew about his boss's dodgy investigation tactics but did nothing to stop it.

According to the New York Times, leaked HP documents show that Kevin Hunsaker, HP's chief ethics officer, knew all about the investigator's methods and didn't approve. In an email to Anthony Gentilucci, HP's company's global investigations unit, Hunsaker questioned the legality of the investigation.

He asked Gentilucci was the investigation all above board and was told that "it is on the edge, but above board".

Hunsaker replied that he "shouldn't have asked..."

Apparently he then stuck his fingers in his ears and went "la la la" until the whole lot blew up in HP's face. Now it looks like he will be a star witness in Senate inquiry into the issue. Tricky things, ethics.
