Rumour is HP may spin off printer business

HOW DO YOU RE-INVENT the Invent company? At HP, you spin off the only profitable division you have, printers and imaging, and call it HP.

You change the name of the rest of the company to Innovative Technologies. The company will be kept with HP for a little while before it is let go. No word on details or stock splits.

If you recall, HP has done this before with an agile side stepping company called Agilent. µ
