THE LATEST INTEL out of Scandinavia (that's 'intelligence', not chippery, folks) is that the latest version of 3DMark - dubbed 'Vantage' in a bid to get away from the monotony of yearly nomenclature - is going to be out in merely a week's time.
The folks at Exp Review have received word that the benchmark tool will be out on April 28. The software was originally scheduled to launch at the Game Developer's Conference earlier this year, but failed to make the cut.
Vantage is 100 per cent Vista only, incorporating as it does a swathe of DX10 routines. Look out for the collective hardware press to go absolutely mental for it next week. ยต
The next version will be called 3DMark DB9 or 3DMark Vanquish.
Close, but no cigar. Futuremark is Finnish, and Finland isn't generally considered a part of Scandinavia. Nordic countries, yes, Scandinavia, no.
One Thing: I suspect Vista Only, as it would be easy to take low score by comparrisson to XP & make it look better than XP?All those Formulas & So.

I Noticed GL 200 has 1o'bunch cards all going 20K 3d'6XP today, So Foolish Me. Maybe XP Still has HOT Spot, Yet Whom Can Tell?

To mister Mr. NomX3 =)

from wikipedia

"Scandinavia[1] is a historical and geographical region centred on the Scandinavian Peninsula in Northern Europe which includes the kingdoms of Denmark, Norway and Sweden.[2][3] The other Nordic countries, Finland, Iceland and the Faroe Islands, are sometimes included because of their close historic and cultural connections to Denmark, Norway and Sweden."

"As a cultural and historical concept, Scandinavia can include Finland as well (of the larger region Fenno-Scandinavia), often with reference to the nation's long history as a part of Sweden. "

So yes Finland is indeed part of Scandinavia.. or what else would you like to be part of CCCP ? o.O :P

Vista-exclusive products are like Vista itself; they will coexist with their former versions for years.

What are you on about then?

Better tell these guys.. http://www.goscandinavia.com/
Vantage makes a good cigarette.
is there even a genuine reason for releasing this software, I mean the old one is just fine for this level of hardware (just) even a 8800GTX, quad core 3 gig ram on high performance mode (nvidia control panel) just plays back at 30 odd frames at the most and has trouble doing so

I dont know if you guys have noticed but everytime a 3dmark is released it pushes the hardware to the extreme limits, that you just have to upgrade to watch the benchmark in at least 30fps glory.
so basically this being released at the same time, as all the new intel, amd, and the 9800 chippery, bit of a coincidence there isnt it.

its no different then what the last 2 benchamrks do, plays back rediculasly graphic intense pictures, and tells u weather ur system is good or not, even if u have a 5 grand system you barely get smooth watchable demo of it . so oops you guessed it UPGRADE TIME.
I have a big problem with this company, releasing software that doesnt serve any purpose, the last benchmark prog played fine under vista. Its just a ploy to
A: get u to buy its software
B: cohoots with all the big names, that all released new hardware last few weeks, at the same time,
do they think people are really that stupid? please dont be fellow IT'ers
3dmark 06/07 stresses even todays hardware to the max, this one isnt needed for another 2 years until
Well, it seems someone is living in a bushes outside Helsinki..Since when finland is not one of the countries of Scandinavia?! come on guys, read some history books or at least watch CNN/BBC.
