CHIP GIANT Intel will spend $2.5 billion building a 12-inch factory in Dalian, China, the Wall Street Journal reported.

The chip company has had the blessing of the Chinese government's economic planning agency, you will not be surprised to read.

The report said that the plant will churn out 52,000 wafers per calendar month once it's up to scratch.

Other countries pitching for Intel's fab business will no doubt be disappointed. µ
