Dell search engine yields many Opteron results

But nothing about Opteron in the results
Sun Mar 28 2004, 14:08
A WEEK AGO if you searched the dell.com site for the word Opteron you would have discovered that it was, through its component business, selling AMD's chips to its specialised customers, whoever they are.

But today that search is nowhere found, although as we reported in the Wibble two days back, the Opteron 148 is mirrored, here.

Today we tried a search on Opteron and it yielded many results on the dell.com site - not that any of the pages had Opterons listed on them, however.

Perhaps Dell is just capitalising on the popularity of the word Opteron? Or maybe it really will have to follow IBM, HP and Sun after all. Or perhaps its search engine pre-emptively assumes that when you type "Opteron", you really mean "Option". The Blue Party isn't going to like this one bit. ยต
