Congress party list appears on Myiota

No, that kind of congress

A VITAL tool for every conference goer is a list of all the free parties. Myiota has just launched such a tool for the forthcoming Mobile World Congress which you can download to your mobile phone.

First of all, however, you have to download Myiota own app to your mobile handset. The company claims it works on nearly all Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Siemens, Motorola and Blackberry mobile phones.

To obtain the software simply type 'wap.myiota.co.uk/mwc' into the handset's browser. Don't use the browser on your PC or Mac and try to side-load it.

Once you have successfully installed the app, fire it up and then navigate to the 'More Services' option. The easiest way to find the party list is to search for the Mobile World Congress Party which comes under 'global' sites.

Browsing through the info you'll find smart people have already helpfully uploaded details of several free MWC parties.

The Myiota service is basically a content aggregator which takes feeds from a variety of sources – including RSS and SMS – and converts it into a mobile friendly format. Basically it takes the pain out of having to use a handset's WAP browser to find the stuff you want to view.

Being a prime news site, INQ readers will be pleased to know that the Inquirer is one of the main news sites featured on Myiota.

So if you need your regular INQ fix and can't get to a PC, use Myiota to look at the latest news instead. µ

Do you think the move was justified?
