AMD intros ATI Mobility kit

CHIP FIRM AMD said it has introduced the HD3000 series of ATI Mobility chips.

The first out of the starting gate are the HD3400 and HD3600 series.

AMD claims these graphics processors will pave the way for a notebook design called Puma.

It claims the series offers Direct X 10.1 capabilities using a set of newly designed lighting and rendering techniques.

Also, notebooks incorporating the chips will support Blu-ray and HD DVD movies in full HD1080P resolution, if the display supports this. µ

* AMD ALSO introduced "Xilleon" panel processors in four flaves called the 410, 411, 420 and 531. These offer motion compensation and frame rate conversion for LCD TVs. They convert frequencies to create extra frames to avoid jerkiness. Mitsubishi and Samsung are including them in some of their products.
