BRITISH FIRM Qinetiq said it has introduced a high sensitity GPS surveillance and tracking device which will work in the most unlikely locations and without a direct sky view.

The Ocellus 5100 is intended to be used for cargo and asset tracking or can be integrated into existing trucking webs.

The unit includes power management to allow very long battery life as well as having a GSM/GPRS modem to broadcast position and status to a server.

There's also an activitity sensor that shows if a unit has been moved. Qinetiq said it is setting up a reseller network for the machine. ยต
