HW Roundup Plus, a free power supply unit
Monday, 26 February 2007, 11:04
TO BEGIN WITH this Monday's rainy roundup, CircuitRemix reviewed Crucial's BallistiX PC2-8000 memory kit. Two 1GB sticks make this set, and guys from Circuit went to overclock it all the way to 1.3 GHz mark. What was interesting was the way memory handled overclock to 1.90 GHz at 4-4-4-12 timings.

Overclocking Intelligence Agency took a look into OCZ's return to the world of graphics cards business. Their review sample went all the way to 650 MHz for the core and 2.05 GHz for the memory, somewhat better than Fudo's take here.

Legit Reviews found a weird on-line deal, resulting in getting a free power supply after rebate. The power supply in question is Ultra's 500W. Truth to be told, PSU is only 70% efficient (no active PFC), but hey, it's free and it works even with the system loaded with powerful components.

Virtual-Hideout took a quick look at Zalman's take in HTPC arena, HD160XT case. This is a quite interesting one, since it comes with an integrated LCD display and appropriate software. At the same time, if you do not have the money to buy HTPC case with nice and shiny LCD, you can always opt for a cheaper alternative. BCCHardware did just that, by testing the Zalman HD135 case - essentially same product as HD160, but with several modifications.

Last in today's HTPC case wibbly, HardwareLogic tested Lian Li's PC-C30B.

RBmods tried to keep their data safe by cooling hard drives using Nexustek's Frisbee hard drive cooler. Unlike all those 5.25" cases, this one definitely deserves its name and unique application.

Besides enjoying the weather in Malta, folks from Playreaction reviewed new audio product from maker of gaming rats, Razer. Razer Integrated Audio Solution (IAS) proved to be an interesting newcomer.

Logitech's Wireless Music System has a bit different goal: connect your computer with your high-end audio system without all the cabling. ExtremeOCtech managed to grab a sample and post their opinions here. But, this was not the only thing that guys got. In order to comfortably control the home theatre setup and the computer, Logitech tossed them one Harmony 880 universal remote.
