Mobile phones with ABC keys emerge

CES 007 Separate alphabet keys integration for texting generation

ONE OF THE BIGGEST problems mobile phones face today is getting info into them.

You might be a 13-year old Japanese girl that types 120 characters a minute, but surfing the net or just searching for content on the internet just is too much of a pain in the butt for most mainstream users out there.

The problem with existing keyboard devices such as BlackBerry or Nokia's E61 is the fact that they're too bulky, and just not appealing to the mainstream. But Telus is aligning with the various telecom providers in order to offer Fastap series of mobile phones.

In short, Fastap phones could be described as Motorola Razr look-alikes with better operating systems and keys with every letter in alphabet. It might look odd, but only takes a few minutes to start typing like there's no tomorrow. Here's a picture of the cellphone. µ
