Get rid of disturbing pop-ups

Out, damn spot...
Mon Feb 04 2002, 09:51
YOU GO TO news.com and a huge console pops up on your screen. You click on the Grauniad Web site, and an ad for an online casino pops up. Even the Wall Street Journal is found guilty from time of using the pesky pop up ads.

Now the lads and lasses on our Delphi forum - itself highly guilty of indiscriminate pop up hooliganism, have come up with some free software to foil the dastardly plans of these Wibble peddlers.

They recommend Pow! from Analog X - or for more comprehensive filtering of just about anything - Proxomitron.

PS Please don't use the latter to filter out our legit ads on the INQ - we've got to be able to feed the ducks somehow... ยต
