Mini iPods make crispy rice sound

APPLE SAYS IT is "looking into" complaints the latest iPod Mini has software problems.

Users on Apple enthusiast sites have been moaning that when they plug in their minis they either get a crackling sound or the thing refuses to play.

In an official statement yesterday Apple noted 'isolated' problems had been reported.

The company pointed out that users who experience the problems were covered by the warranty.

The iPod Mini has been hot property since it went on sale in February and the company has been forced to delay its global launch to satisfy US demand. ยต
