New Intel, ATI mobo hits etail

Integrated desktop board, €70
Monday, 8 May 2006, 10:11
WE WROTE about this Intel board that sports an ATI chipset quite some time ago. Back in February, in fact.

The board slipped its original schedule but we know you can order one as we speak. It costs roughly €70 in European retail.

It is officially called Intel D102GGC2L bulk, ATI XPress 200i (dual PC2-533 DDR2) which leads us to suspect it'll be a dual PC2-533 DDR 2 part. According to Intel roadmaps seen by the INQ, the Grant County 2 motherboard supports only single-channel DDR 2.

The board is based on Radeon XPress200i chipset powered with RC410 Northbridge and IXP 450 Southbridge. It is a micro ATX board with VGA, USB 2.0, LAN, SATA Raid and 7.1 audio powered with ALC861. The board features one PCIe 16X slot, a single PCIe 1X slot and two PCI slots. The board comes as a bulk product so don't expect a nice box and any additional cables and stuff and mighty Intel will offer you only twelve months of warranty for it.

Intel already listed this board on its web page and here are the 50 of Intel's own recommended words about this motherboard:
"The Intel® Desktop Board D102GGC2 delivers an integrated graphics solution in the Essential Series combining exceptional value with quality and reliability supporting Intel® Pentium® D, Intel® Pentium® 4, and Intel® Celeron® D processors with 800/533 MHz system bus in the LGA775 package. This board features a PCI Express x16 connector, integrated 10/100 LAN, single-channel DDR2533/400 memory, High Definition Audio and up to eight USB 2.0 ports. " [That's enough ®s - Ed].

You can check the specifications at this l'Inq and you can buy the board over here. µ
