Michael Dell, Kevin Rollins named in AMD subpoena

Mike Capellas, Carly Fiorina too

EARLIER ON today we published details of letters AMD had sent to OEMs, but the one sent to Dell is of great interest.

These letters request certain named individuals to retain documents and emails in their possession, and as we reported in the previous story, Dell has said it will make a response to AMD's request.

Among the individuals named in the letter to Dell are both founder Michael Dell and CEO Kevin Rollins.

Another letter sent to HP requests that Mike Capellas and Carly Fiorina, both formerly at HP, are named custodians of data that AMD wants. Vyomesh Joshi, still at HP, is also mentioned as a "custodian", as well as Shane Robison, Mary McDowell, Ann Livermore and Robert Wayman.

AMD has said that if firms it sent the letters to refuse to cooperate in its preliminary discovery procedure, it will subpoena them.

Dell has, as INQ readers know, been loyal to Intel since time immemorial. A subpoena of Michael Dell and Kevin Rollins would make for an interesting court case. ยต
