Firm releases 8GB USB flash drive

Bluetooth, Wireless LAN to come

PRETEC SAID it has made an 8GB USB flash drive which supports dual channel data transmission and shuttles data around at 16MB/sec and 12MB/sec read.

The iDisk II 8GB includes designed in data encryption, compression and write protection and comes bundled with Flashmail, Mobilelock and Secretzip software. The range of flash drives Pretec made formerly spanned 128MB to 4GB and the firm promises to build in Bluetooth and wireless LAN technology in the future.

The 8GB drive is already sampling and Pretec said it will go into mass production next month. No price is available yet. µ
