Dave Orton quits AMD

With mixed feelings
Tuesday, 10 July 2007, 15:29
THE FORMER president and CEO of ATI Technologies is quitting AMD at the end of the month.

According to a press release, Orton said he was leaving AMD with mixed feelings.

What that means we're not quite sure.

David-ortonAMD will replace him, if he can be replaced, with Adrian Hartog, while the head of its graphics division, Rick Bergman, is now going to report directly to Hector Ruiz.

How puzzling. AMD only took over ATI about a year ago. No doubt he's not short of a penny or two, but replacing Orton is going to be pretty difficult. ยต
