The roadmap we saw gives more details about the chipsets in SiS' "open architecture solution" during 2002.
The 646 Pentium 4 supporting the 533MHz Intel bus, external AGP4x, DDR-333 and Mutiol Media IP in a 651 pin compatible package samples in January next year for shipment in March next year.
As we revealed last week, Intel has brought the date of its 533MHz bus forward and Pentium 4 "Celerons" forward.
The SiS 646 for the Athlon XP will sample in March next year for shipment in May, and will support AGP 8X, ATA-133, USB 2.0, and IEEE 1394.
SiS' dual DDR-333 755 supports the Pentium 4, AGP 8X, USB 2.0, ATA-133 and 1394. It samples April for shipment in Q3 of 2002.
The Hammer 755 also supports AGP8X, USB 2.0, ATA-133 and 1394. It samples Q2 for shipment now in Q4 to match AMD's plans.
The 651, pin to pin compatible with the 650, supports the Pentium 4/533, UltraAGP II, DDR-333, AGP4 and samples in January for shipment in March.
The 740, which samples and ships in the same periods as the 651, supports the AthlonXP, Real-256, 2D/3D, Ultra AGP-II, DDR-266, USB 2, ATA 133 and 1394.
In Q3 for shipment in Q4, SiS will sample the 660, a P4/533 chipset supporting Ultra256 2D/3D, UltraAGP II, dual DDR-333, AGP8X, ATA -133, USB 2.0 and 1394.
Its 760 Hammer chopset samples in Q4 next year for shipment in Q1 of 2003, supporting AGP8X, USB 2, ATA-133, 1394 and Ultra25 2D/3D.
For notebooks, as we pointed out earlier this week, it already has two P4 chipsets, the 645 and the 650, the former supporting DDR-333 and the latter DDR-266.
It is readying the 740 Athlon 4 notebook chipset which supports Real256 2D/3D, Ultra AGP II, SXGA, DDR-266 and ATA-100. That should ship next month.
In the first half of 2002, SiS has the 646, a Pentium 4/533 supporting DDR-333, ATA-133 and including 1394, as well as the 650, a P4/400 chipset which supports UXGA, DDR-266, ATA-133 and 1394. That samples February for mass production Q2.
That seems to turn into the 740 AthlonXP chipset in production in May next year, supporting much the same as the 740.
The rather interesting M651, which supports the Pentium 4/533 and samples in Q3 of next year, includes support for Real 256 2D/3D, UltraAGP II, UXGA, DDR-333, ATA-133, 1394 and includes an integrated LVDS transmitter.
Finally, fleshing out information we carried earliet this week, the SiS South Bridge starts with the M961, sampling January next, which integrates six PCI masters, six USB ports, Dual ATA=133 MAC, audio integrated ACPI 1.0b, IP APIC, and three ports IEEE 1394A, as well as including LPC and PC2001 as well as being pin compatible with the 961, the 962, and the 963.
Sampling in February, for release in May, the 962 adds to that by supporting ISB 2.0, while the 963 sampling in Q2 2002 for shipment in Q3, includes IPB ADSL.
The 964, sampling in Q3 for shipment Q4 next year, adds Serial ATA 150 to this picture. All these South Bridges use MuTIOL 533 or later in the year MuTIOL 1G. ยต
