But the last we heard was that it will still take additional year or year-and-a-half of development. By that time, there will be a lot of games with graphics engines cranked to the max, so we can expect that ol' Duke will continue to change engines, etc.
But, all is not lost for those hard-core Duke fans, because a new Duke is being shown off at GDC. True, it is not DN4ever, but it still offers hours of fun.
DN3D for some new kids on the block...
Duke Nukem Arena sports practically the same quality of graphics that original Duke Nukem 3D had, but offers that in a package for all BREW compatible phones.
The game is developed by MachineWorks NorthWest llc, and it is not the only title these lads have in store. They also demonstrated Prey for mobile phones, and that Prey is pretty much the most impressive mobile game we've seen so far.
These guys really know to optimise BREW API to the fullest. µ
