India gets thin end of Via-MSI wedge

Hardware sites cause confusion

HERE'S AN ILLUSTRATION of just how difficult distribution is, particularly on a worldwide basis and exacerbated by the Wibbly Wobbly Web. The letter is from an Indian reader to Microstar International. Email address supplied but not published. µ

"I just wanted to say that you guys are not doing it the right way. I just called your distributor (Priya Group) for Mumbai, India to find out you people have not yet shipped original K7T266 (VIA KT266) in India.

"Forget the new performance leader based on KT266A. This is a big blow for you as now there are many other (DDR) mainboards available, but I must agree that they are not upto your standards. One more thing is that there are many who are constantly in touch with latest you people have to offer through Web-Sites Reviews.

"But when they want to buy such things they have to call their cousins or friends living in Singapore or HongKong. And I don't have one, So I just wanted to know when this thing is going to end? This is simply not fair for India or Me.

"The products I am interested in are K7T266 Pro2-RU and/or K7N420. I wanted to make an Athlon XP based (DDR) system but I think I will have to go the SDRAM (KT133) way. I hope that Mr Mike Magee will try to get the tech world's attention on this practice followed by MotherBoard Manufacturer, and help me get my DDR mainboard. Hope this opens your Eyes.
