APPLE HAS released its latest next generation iPod music player, which has the ability to display digital images as well as play songs.

As expected the iPod Photo, is very pretty and comes with reassuringly expensive price tags of $499 and $599.

It can store up to 25,000 wallet-size digital images and display them on a television via a cable. It comes with 40GB or 60GBe disk storage, and stores more than 15,000 songs.

The juke-box was released by Apple guru Steven Jobs with the motto "all of your songs and photos in your pocket." It will hit the shops in the US next week. µ
