Fri Apr 13 2007, 11:49
INTEL IS TO provide an update on the Itanium roadmap at the Gelato ICE Itanium Conference & Expo beginning 16 April in San Jose.

Delegates at the Doubletree Hotel will get to see over 70 "top-notch" presentations - what, no duff ones? - focusing on Linux on Itanium.

Tracks include multicore programming, virtualisation, GCC improvements and the like. Keynoters include Linux kerenel maintenance guru Andrew Morton and Wim Coekaerts, Oracle's Linux go-to man. The man with the Itanium plan is Intel's James Fister who will be "outlining the latest, yet to be disclosed, Itanium processor roadmap," according to our invite. ยต
