Abit launches first Via K8T800 Pro mainboard

Scott Thirwell whips it out fast
Thursday, 25 March 2004, 09:51
CHINESE SPEAKING top table dancer and marketing director of Abit, Scott Thirwell, has whipped out one of the first Via K8T800 Pro mainboards for Socket 754 AMD Athlon 64 processors.

1GHz HyperTransport transfers, Gigabit LAN, FireWire and S-ATA RAID make up some of the feature set but if this isn't enough, the mainboard - the KV8 Pro - has Abit's SoftMenu controlled tweaky µGuru Technology.

Amongst other things, this ASIC allows headbangers to pump up the board voltages for as much as their silicon can handle.

We also note, KV8 Pro has been endowed with a number of FSB:AGP:PCI ratios, so that should keep the overclockers overjoyed too.

There's info about the KV8 Pro at the Abit web site, here. µ
