Facebook likely to back down on theft charges

Although we will never know

PEOPLE in the know claim that Facebook is set to back down in the court case which claims that its CEO Mark Zuckerberg stole the idea for the social networking site from his old Harvard buddies.

ConnectU, filed a federal lawsuit against the multi-billion dollar company, claiming Zuckerberg stole their ideas while they were students at Harvard. Facebook said it didn’t, but now the two sides are close to a settlement

According to The New York Times, Facebook was finalising a settlement with the founders and all motions to dismiss the case, as well as the various counter-claims, were expected to be filed "within weeks".

Unfortunately it means that we will never know if Zuckerberg nicked anything, but Facebook probably thinks ConnectU is worth paying off. The whole thing has been a public relations nightmare and the social notworking site does want to have a public offering on the stockmarket soon. µ

Nothing says GUILTY like settling with someone who is supposedly slandering you.
If you're innocent and have too much dough like Zucky already does, you go the whole way and get your decision in Court to clear your good name.
It would seem that Zucky does not have a good name to clear.

Do you think the move was justified?
