Skin scandal exposes porn privacy pitfalls

More customer service shenanigans

A FLESH-FILLED JOLLY has turned into a privacy horror story for film reviewer Justin Gayner.

But here's the twist - it's not his privacy on the block.

Just days after Apple was blasted for handing over privacy details to a stranger using its .Mac service, celebrity database of nakedness MrSkin.com has been caught doing the same thing - only with rather more serious and salacious consequences.

Investigating celebrity skin for his online film review show, Gayner hit up the website - featured in hit Seth Rogen movie Knocked Up - for 'research' purposes. (Yeah right - Ed).

But a billing error led to a support phone call, and a support phone call - videotaped for comedy purposes - led to the customer service rep disclosing the full account name, address and details of another customer, meaning the comedy stunt took on rather more serious consequences.

Gayner maintains that the individual was immediately identifiable after the call via Google, but has bleeped out the poor fellow's name in the video of the call posted online.

If you didn't already have an inkling, privacy and porn don't necessarily mix. You can watch the amusing video of the call over y'ere. µ
