Via techology beats Intel's

Not a Poisson d'Avril

IN A RECENT race, Via/Centaur absolutely stomped Intel. No, this is not an April Fool's joke, but a real race.

According to this link found on Van's Hardware, it wasn't even close.

In a world where we measure benchmarks in tenths of frames per second, the almost five minute win by the Centaur boys can be considered abusive. Since there are no FPS based 10K race games on the market, I can't tell you how close it is in those terms though.

One thing's for sure, Samsung's ‘throw masses of engineers at the problem' approach didn't do much good, but it still managed to put them ahead of Intel's low power group. I wonder if Anand S is still smiling after this? µ
