Via says 19 mobo makers using KT600 chipsets

CHIP FIRM Via said 19 mobo makers will adopt its Apollo KT600 chipset, which it formally introduced today.

The chipset uses a 400MHz front side bus, supports Serial ATA for the Athlon XP, and includes the Fast Stream DDR 400 memory controller.

The firms it mentioned are ABIT, Acorp, Albatron, Aopen, Asus, Azza, Biostar, Chaintech, DFI, ECS, Epox, FIC, Gigabyte, Jetway, MSI, Shuttle, Soltek, Soyo and QDI.

The chipset uses the VT8237 south bridge which includes Viny audio, eight USB 2 ports, 10/100 Ethernet, and Serial RAID. It also has backwards support for IDE and PCI. ยต
