Chinese invent martial arts ready robot

It can also surf the Internet, maybe
Monday, 30 December 2002, 07:34
THE PEOPLE'S DAILY, surely the most objective publication on the subject of Tibet in the world, said that Chinese boffins have invented a robot which can perform Tai Chi without power lines.

The newspaper said Mr BHR-1 will be able to take over "dangerous jobs from human".

Tai Chi, which the Daily calls "shadow boxing", is an abstracted martial art drawing on "chi" or the life energy.

The newspaper said that the imaginatively named BHR-1 weighs 76 kilograms, is 158 centimeters high, and includes 32 moving joints.

Perhaps like surfing the Internet to see Taiwanese or Tibetan sites, or reading the Amnesty International web page? Apparently this can be a very dangerous little hobby in the People's Republic. µ
