Some nice Germans set about stoking the debate with a piece looking at how a Pentium 4 fares with DDR333 memory with its additional 600 MB/s of bandwidth. This they put up against RIMM3200 and RIMM4200 and some other CPUs with other memory configurations. Is it just Rambus that can give the Pentium 4 the power it deserves? they ask. Wibblen Sie hier or check out the, er, translation here.
Thanks to Kyle over at HardOCP for helping out doughnuts like me who occasionally lose links! Here's his input on the 333MHz frontside bus business. There's certainly summat going on, he reckons here.
Digitimes had a piece confirming what we exclusively revealed to the world on this hot topic over here. Do they confirm what we said, or did they just lift it? You decide by wibbling over here.
ipKonfig reviewed the "revolutionary" tip magnet fan, the Y.S. Tech TMD over here. Concerned, they were, that it spun up to about 20 per cent higher RPM than rated. Hmm. Too many revolutions, eh? Anyhow, it seems the fan is being recalled because it can spin up uncontrollably, and draw enough power to burn up its lead wires. You got one? Best send it back.
Anandtech takes a good long look at MSI's 648 Max-F: SiS 648 mainboard over here. An impressive piece of silicon for the most part, they reckon.
ReviewNation has a fiddle with IWILL's P4R533-N i850E motherboard. This motherboard is based on the Intel 850E chipset, they say and supports the new Rambus PC1066 memory, (cough!). Wiggle ye hither .
Another nice German fellow was selling a computer motherboard on eBay. Rather than put his own pictures up, though, he just linked to a couple of shots of the same motherboard taken by a web site that had reviewed the product a while back. This is very bad form. The offended web site (www.2cpu.com) decided that since they controlled the actual pictures that were being posted, they might as well tweak the eBay sellers' nose a bit, it seems. Flaming 'eck! Wibble this way (you've 12 hours left...).
OverclockersClubCanada has a review of Dynatron's 80mm case fan over here.
Over at amdpower they've taken an in-depth look at the Nexland ISB-Pro800 broadband router including SNMP, Dynamic DNS, and mapping features. Along the way, they say, they uncovered some firmware bugs and addressed them. Have a gander over here.
The blond Pabster, (cough!) has a guide to building your own PC over here. Know-How for Do-It-Yourselfers they call it.
For a post in the Daily Wibble mail the Wibbler here.
