Play a WAP game and win an Iphone

Join Cellufun's Myphone Mobile Pet

HOW ABOUT the chance to win an Apple Iphone if you're cash poor and time rich? Cellufun has launched a handset version of the Tamagotchi. Play it and win.

We've heard of another kind of envy beginning with 'P' but apparently people out there are jealous of Jobs' new Apple Phone. So online games provider, Cellufun, decided to start a game featuring a mobile phone.

Just like a Tamagotchi, you have to keep this 'pet' happy otherwise it will die. Try feeding it tunes and taking it to the local computer store - instead of the doctor - when it feels sick.

Each month one lucky player will win an Iphone. The company also says that since the Iphone is currently unavailable outside the USA, worldwide players will be offered something similar. (Cough! Ed.)

Mobile-pet--align--left Cellufun says that it already has half a million people looking after pets of all kinds. What you have to do is be able to launch a WAP or Web browser to view and play the game.

Plus Cellufun is one of those sites where you can register (for free) using a mobile phone. You don't need a PC or Mac to do so.

The INQ isn't quite sure how Cellufun's business model works but it seems the site is loaded with mobile content should you wish to purchase such stuff.

Incidentally, the game is best played using a WAP browser. On Nokia phones, for example, you find this by going to the Media folder and clicking on the 'Services' icon. The 'Web' browser is for html sites.

Feed this URL into your WAP phone … http://wap.cellufun.com. Then go to What's new?

Is it just the INQ. Or does the pet phone look very similar to the Carphone Warehouse's Mobi? The lawyers should love that. ยต
