My Space bug fixed

As if it never was
Mon Jan 21 2008, 08:30

MYSPACE has quietly fixed a bug which allowed people to have a look at private snaps without permission.

According to Wired the bug had been around since October and had been a pretty badly kept secret among the pervs who had been using it to look at 14 and 15 year old kids and sharing their pictures.

There were even ad-supported sites such as MySpacePrivateProfile.com which exploited the flaw and made a few bucks off it.

Yet Myspace seemed to be either ignorant or unable to do anything about it. Officially it was promising that secret picture watching was impossible.

That was until the story hit Wired late last week. Within 24 hours the flaw was fixed without a dicky bird being mentioned to the great unwashed.

Wired implies that MySpace knew about it, but didn't take action until hacks bought it to the world's notice.
