A man called Jimmy Wales predicts the death of Facebook

WHACKYPEDIA founder Jimmy Wales has ruled that Facebook is not notable enough and will be a thing of the past in a couple of years.

Speaking to the Orlando Sentinel, the Macbook wielding man - named after an obscure former province of England which is now autonomous - also said that Myspace was doomed and would not last a couple of years.

He said that Facebook was the next Microsoft in both the bad and the good senses. He said that it is an amazing company that is going to do a lot of good and bad things.

Wales did not say quite what Facebook would do that was evil. Maybe it would start removing entries about people who its ill-qualified, fake-penis expert administrators thought were not notable enough.

Ironically the theme of his message was that when people design a website they should not start by thinking about all of the bad things that could happen.

He said that websites would still be used by humans and you have to treat humans with respect.

When people design restaurants, they don't usually include cages to corral guests who might use the silverware to attack others, he said.

You don't want to enter a restaurant where they act like you're about to stab people and you really don't want to use a website where they act like you are about to break something, Wales added.

We would have thought that you would not want to go to restaurant where the waiter tells you that you have no right to exist because some spotty mate of the owner thinks you are not notable enough. ยต

Prejudice and pride

Can Nick Farrel read at all? geez, the article says Wales thinks myspace is doomed, and that facebook is the one that's going to be big.
That you then twist in him saying facebook is done with..
Please, a little effort, even when it's a wikipedia guy, thanks.

Talk about generalizations...

"He said that it is an amazing company that is going to do a lot of good and bad things."

...and what other types of things are there to do? This statement will always be true, so it's no wonder his followers believe he is "God" - he's always right!!!

I predict that The Inquirer will spell some words correctly and mis-spell others. Now, let's wait and see if my prediction comes true and I become as rich and charismatic as old Jimmy.

it wasn't the first

bolt.com and sixdegrees.com are now non-existent now and it's just a guess but facebook and myspace will probably disappear too. not sure what evil's they would do except cause some people to lose money if they bank on it.

So, Facebook not relevant eh ?

How long before the Wikizealots start deleting all references to Facebook (or MySpace, don't care) ?
After all, if it's "not relevant", then it has nothing to do on the All-Knowing Wiki, does it ?
