Itanic sinks

They said it would never happen

THEY SAID IT COULD NEVER SINK. But now it has. The Itanic has sunk. In price at least.

It's also available on the second hand market. And as so few products actually shipped this is probably an Itanic collectible.

Over at the 2CPU Forums, a 61KG HP Netserver LXR 8500 is up for sale for $4,000.

HP lists this model at $23,434. It takes eight Pentium II or Pentium III Xeon processors right up to the famous 900MHz Pentium III Xeons, and supoorts up to 16GB of SDRAM.

Its 7U high and comes with two PIII Xeons at 700MHz but will take up to eight.

You might find it useful for when the glaciers start melting and icebergs come floating down your data centre.

Alternatively, you might like to fit it on the front of an icebreaker to ease your way through the glacier bottleneck.

The full specifications are over at 2CPU. µ
