Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul outed
Wednesday, 23 May 2007, 18:04
WHEN YOURS TRULY started playing Oblivion, a sense of disappointment could not pass me by. It was all a doddle. No dungeon proved to be a big challenge, and then I learned why - Bethesda turned this game into an eight-year-old's Xbox360 arcade romp, so all the challenges of Daggerfall and Morrowind just went bust.

After acquiring a horse in first two hours of gameplay (truth to be told, I could have had it in 40mins if I wasn't so impressed by the graphics) and comparing it to world of Warcraft and its days-long quest to get a faster way of transportation, there was no choice - uninstall.

But recently, we learned of Oscuro's Obvlion Overhaul, also known as OOO. This is a complete overhaul of gameplay, and this finally makes game more playable for old farts like yours truly.

OOO changes the gameplay in a way that you will have a separation between the low-level and high-level areas, so no more epic battles with rats around the first city (yeah, five wolves on lvl15 can be quite a challenge).

This was not the only change, there is a lot of hidden treasure in the game now, and traps, yielding a definite RPG experience.

If you're interested, pick up Oblivion and head off to download new patches from the new official site of this very talented lad. µ
