WE REPORTED last week on a presentation Intel's general manager, Steven Grant, gave on manufacturing.

At the time, he presented a number of slides and paper presentations which we weren't able to publish, but have now returned to Blighty and have the technology here to deliver it.

See Intel 65 nano tech ahead of time.

It's pretty clear from the presentation below that it has to press ahead with creating its 300 millimetre, 65 nanometre fab at Leixlip, Dublin, despite the lack of funding from the Irish government.

The slides also show how Intel will move to 65 nanometre and 300 millimetre technology around the world. The scan of the black and white paper presentation also shows the projections Intel has for moving to some elements of 45 nanometre technology, currently slated for 2007. µ

* MEANWHILE Reuters reports that US states are falling over themselves to figure out new ways to give Intel tax concessions.
