IT'S A pain to have to plug yourself directly into your mobile phone just to enjoy listening to MP3s saved on the phone – especially when the handset supports the latest (V 2.0) version of Bluetooth.
So Swedish design company, Jays, has created a stylish adapter that you can clip to a shirt or jacket and listen to music being played back from the phone.
The greatest benefit this product - the Bluestreamer 2 - provides is that you can continue to use the earphones of you choice because it sports a standard 3.5mm audio jack.
What happens if a call comes in while you're listening? The Bluestreamer automatically cuts out the music and switches to phone mode – allowing you to talk through the adapter's own microphone.
An alternative use for this adapter is to marry it to a PC to listen
wirelessly to your favourite tunes and if a call comes in via Skype, it will
interrupt the music and let you natter away. The PC needs to have a Bluetooth
2.0 capability or compatible Bluetooth adapter, of course.
To make the product trendy, it comes in Black (for Goths); white (for Apple lovers) and Pink (for the ladies). Better still it can be re-charged using a standard USB cable.
The product is already available in the UK through the Mp3company priced at £39.95 (including VAT).
What Jays is hoping, however, is that it'll encourage you to purchase its own earphone – the Q-jays – which it claims is the smallest earphones on the market with a dual armature. µ
