Halo 3 gameplay leaked online

Silent but deadly

A VIDEO HAS has appeared online showing seven minutes of fresh, crisp Halo 3 gameplay.

Console owners desperate to find out how the hotly-anticipated finale to the Halo trilogy plays out can find the full seven minute video here. Alternatively, there are better-than-web quality versions floating around on BitTorrent.

Unfortunately, the video is lacking a few things. One is decent quality - despite being dubbed as 'FULL HD Halo 3 Zanzibar Leak', we can only assume that HD stands for Hella Downscaled. Number two is that the video doesn't have any gameplay sound, only some obnoxious techno tune over the top, presumably to mask the sounds of the various gamers trash talking each other, thus making them identifiable as complicit in the leak of the footage.

Indeed, to that end the video blacks out the names of competitors in the deathmatch action to avoid identifying who was responsible for the leak. But given that the video is clearly labeled as a BETA release of the game, and the public beta isn't due to hit until next month, someone is about to discover how fun it is not to be employed at Microsoft.

For what it's worth, Halo 3 deathmatch looks like Halo 2 on steroids - more modes, more fun, more weapons, better graphics. But not a lot else. µ
