Transmeta picks up $150 million from Intel

And $100 million over five years
Wednesday, 24 October 2007, 16:20

TINY TRANSMETA (tick: TMTA) picked up a payment of $150 million from chip giant Intel to settle a patent dispute.

But it doesn't end there - Intel will pay an annual licence fee to Transmeta of $20 million a year for the next five years. Transmeta had claimed that Speedstep was its idea, and picked up by Intel illicitly. Other patents were also involved.

Transmeta's market cap was $42 million yesterday. It's share price has risen by $9.65 today.

Transmeta share prices are riding high right now despite being in the doldrums forever. ยต
