NOT TO BE outdone by the US, Blighty should soon get its own Xbox 360 price drop.

Xbox 360
A Woolworths catalogue pictured by Engadget has let the cat out of the bag suggesting the console will soon be cheaper to buy here.

The Arcade Xbox 360 will allegedly fall to £129.99, the Premium unit to £169.99, and the Elite console will be priced at £229.99, according to scans.

The three Xbox 360 SKUs currently sell for £159.99, £199.99 and £259.99 respectively.

Microsoft has said that following the US price cut of the Xbox 360, sales of the console have risen 100 per cent.

And according to a statement on Kotaku, a number of retailers have reported sales of some of the SKUs are selling at six times the rate of the previous weekend.

Despite the upcoming price drop, Midway has expressed concern about the 360 lagging in Europe.

PS3/PSP
Despite all the price cuts for the 360, and news of its soaring sales, Sony seems unconcerned.

Julie Han of Sony's corporate communications department told Gamasutra: "We'll obviously see the natural lift [in sales] with the price cut - but how sustainable is that in the long term?"

Continuing "... we're quite confident our holiday sales will be good."

1up.com has a PS3 vs Xbox 360 comparison ofBioshock, which is belatedly coming for the PS3 soon.

Wii/DS
Nintendo has unveiled aWifi network adapter for the Wii, which will be made available in Japan.

Unfortunately it won't be able to make toast.

Gameplayer.com has a complete history of Nintendo, which makes interesting reading.

Eurogamer has the usual Virtual Console Round-up here. µ
