THE BANGALORE edition of the Sunday Times reports the local cops are struggling to deal with a mass of email abuse cases.

The report said the cyber crime cops have 533 enquiries pending including defamation, identity theft and harassment. It said that while the offences fall under the Indian Information Act 2000, cases rarely come to court for fear of more harassment.

Karnataka has the largest proportion of this type of crime in the entire country.
