NOTEBOOK MAKER Lenovo said it will start the first of three online auctions today featuring limited edition PCs based on the Beijing 2008 Olympic Torch.

The notebooks will be autographed by British badminton silver medallist Gail Emms.

All the money made at the auctions will be distributed to selected charities, said Lenovo.

As well as the UK, auctions will take place in Japan, Australia, France, Russia, the US, Hong Kong, Argentina, India, Brazil and Canada in the run up to the games.

The UK auction site is up and running from midnight, tonight, here. µ
