Docomo does a Wii on its handsets

Did the phone move for you?

MOBILE PHONE outfit Docomo is installing a motion sensor in one of its phone ranges that lets users play games like the Wii.

The DoCoMo's D904i, which has been built by Mitsubishi, lets users swing the handset like a tennis racket or wield it like sword to control game play, instead of punching on the keypad.

The move is to capitalise on the popularity of games on 3G networks, although quite how you can see the screen when you are waving it about is beyond us. there is also the risk that you could sent your mobile out of a window, which would be a more expensive accident than doing the same thing with your Wii handset.

According to Reuters, Docomo released five handsets as its new 904i flagship series today which will start appearing in the shops from May.
