Hack props up Bar Spinola in Wackyworld

There's nowt as weird as folk
Wednesday, 7 February 2007, 16:58
SO I BEEN HANGING around this weird place for a few days now and let me tell you it gets wackier the longer you spend here.

As mentor Charlie Demerjian puts it: "Second Life is not bad as long as you have no shred of sanity left."

Bowled over to the rather magnificent but very empty Reuters building and met a confused lass who said she was looking for the world of entertainment and tried to speak to me in French. Told her that Reuters was the last place to look for entertainment. At least she wasn't wearing a furry tail, devil's wings and strange appendages, like quite a few of the denizens here.

AOL and Weekly World News are here too, for reasons best known to themselves.

The locals at Molesworth 229, 179, 59 have started moving out or putting their lots up for sale ever since we built Bar Spinola with a strangely unsatisfying selection of virtual drinks, cigars and the like. A 30 foot revolving Spinola, bottle of whisky and Everywhere Girl don't seem too acceptable to the neighbors either.

I dunno how much I can take of this on behalf of the INQUIRER. They'll be coming to take me away ha ha pretty soon now, I reckon. You can tell I'm losing it because of my choice of pants. The only thing that's saving the slender sliver of sanity remaining is reading these Something Awful posts.

PS: How much am I getting paid for this stuff, Ed? [One Linden Dollar, Ed.] ยต
