Patent Office rejects NTP RIM patent

A DAY AFTER a judge said he wouldn't wait for the US Patent Office to give rulings on the validity of NTP patents which it claims Research in Motion (RIM) infringes, one of those patents has been ruled invalid.

But the examination of the patents is still non final, and so the case will continue rolling through US courts.

Associated Press said that one of the patents may already have been created by a Norwegian company - giving a Scandinavian twist to the legal cocktail.
