Gone now, but not forgotten

THE WEB TURNS out to be a dangerous tool again for computer companies. Today it's Apple's turn to be web wibbled.

Some specifications of Apple's forthcoming G5 machines were accidentally posted on the firm's site yesterday, mixed up with the specs of the G4.

A little earlier than Monday.

And although Apple pulled the specifications just as soon as it realised, some souls grabbed the shot quicker than Apple could get to them.

If the specs are to believed G5 will fly along with 1.6GHz, 1.8GHz and with dual 2GHz PowerPC G5 processors. A processor bus of 1GHz? And supporting 8GB of DDR SDRAM.

Here's what someone grabbed before Apple pulled the plug. µ
