OVER AT hardwareXL, there is a thread on Overclocking the Opteron 170. It is a dual core opteron running at 2Ghz with a 1.33v stock voltage. Fluence, the moderator reached 2.7GHz which is not that bad. He's planning to get a more powerful PSU - read 700w and better memory to push the 2GHz D.C to a 3GHz one with some chance and a better cooling.

The Thermaltake Purepower power station 520w Modular PSU is reviewed at Driver Heaven. Loads of tests, superb photos and quite a few details. It comes with a power station 5.25-inch bay as well as enough cable for Houdini the magician; also includes a 120mm fan with a blue LED. TT seems to have produced another winner in the product line, according to DH.

Legionhardware checks X-Micro Video MP3 400 player. It comes with 1GB memory and has a LED display. It is absolutely minimal even when compared to a AA battery. It has a voice recorder and a FM radio. Apparently, it can run for nearly one hundred hours according to LH reviewer. For once, even if it is marketed as a low budget MP3 player it comes with above average accessories including good earphones. You can even view pictures on its colour screen.

Accelenation has an interesting article on Parallax Mapping with a back to basic approach which is welcomed for those new to the subject. Thre's a mysterious Ms. T who appears in the article, but it's anyone's guess to who she might be. The author points to the fact that at the end of the day, we might be returning back to ray tracing. So watch this space is the conclusion.

Techniz.co.uk reviews the Coolmax CX1 Series of PSU which comes rated at 600w and complete with a 120mm fan. Unforunately, there's not much to distinguish this nice baby from the rest of the class. It is SLI compliant, very quiet, has loads of power connectors and provides an excellent performance - basically what all other PSUs aspire to. Its final price remains to be seen but if it is competitive enough and available, it will be a favourite for SLI systems

Overclockers online tests the Samsung SPP-2040 photo printer. It is probably the first inkjet photo printer from the Korean manufacturer which is already an established laser printer manufacturer. The SPP2040 lives up to the expectations - it produces photo like prints, comes with a large 2-inch LCD, can read from seven different memory cards and the software provided could be an inspiration to some. Add a nice price to it and you've got a real winner. µ
