Fri Feb 02 2007, 17:35
NVIDIA kept its promise and launched an SLI driver with Open GL support. It did it in the very late hours of the 31st, just as the company promised. We wrote about it here.

The new driver is still beta but it has some new features. The single GPU has DirectX 9 support for GeForce 6/7/8 series GPUs , DirectX 10 support for GeForce 8800 GPUs and OpenGL support for GeForce 6/7/8 series GPUs.

Nvidia SLI supports the whole 2 percent of Nvidias market have DirectX 9 support for Geforce 8800 GPUs and of course OpenGL support for Geforce 8800 GPUs.

DirectX 9 and OpenGL NVIDIA SLI support for Geforce 6 and 7 series GPUs and DirectX 10 NVIDIA SLI support for Geforce 8800 GPUs will be available in a future driver. So some job is don't and some still has to be done. You can grab both 32 bit drivers from Nvidia side. The 32 bit is here while the 64 bit is here.

You can of course forget about Nvidia WHQL driver for Vista and they don't have it for any Geforce card at least not today. µ
